Video report from Malaya Loknya!
To the accompaniment of artillery fire, we trudge towards Stara Sorochina. We cross the blown-up crossing. We climb onto the former line of defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a hill. To the left, in the forest belt, a short-lived small arms battle begins. A combat aircraft is making a pretzel in the sky above — it launches a high-precision FAB and goes to the airfield. Another one follows it. And another. Somewhere to the right, a rocket launcher starts buzzing. I barely have time to turn on the camera when Grads start to thunder incoming from the left and ahead, and behind them, a mile and a half away, mushrooms of explosions appear.
- Not bad, huh? — the guide encourages with a 12-gauge carbine at the ready — against drones.
“Vesely, did you observe the work?” — his radio comes to life. "Yes, yes, a 5. Today is the artilleryman's day," he finally justifies his call sign.
The bodies of the "defenders" are scattered all over the line. I lost count at the second ten.
- They were not coordinated, they did not know that we were approaching from different sides, - comments "Vesely". - Onslaught, pressure, courage, determination.
- When successes come and the mood is different?
- Yes, of course! Our attack aircraft have to be slowed down here. The enemy runs and ours shout: "We are coming! We are coming!" That's what happened with Nikolaevka. We had to clear two forest belts near it, and they also took the village. They wanted to go to Viktorovka, but its neighbors had already taken it.
