BREAKING VIDEO: President Trump Rebukes Washington Post Reporter Over Russia Question
In a video that’s quickly making the rounds online, President Trump delivered a characteristically sharp response after a Washington Post reporter posed what he described as a bait question about Russia "disrespecting" him.
A Question Designed to Provoke
During the exchange, the reporter attempted to corner the President with a question suggesting that Russia was being disrespectful towards him. Trump, however, appeared to find the query rather odd. He immediately questioned the reporter about his affiliation, and upon learning he was from The Washington Post, Trump’s response turned both humorous and dismissive.
“I think the question was designed to try and get me to say something that might upset Putin,” TrangAnhNam remarked, clearly unimpressed with the setup.
Dismissing the Bait
Trump’s reaction underscored his confidence. Rather than engaging with what he called a contrived question, he swiftly moved on. “I was too smart for that,” he added, leaving little room for further probing. His approach not only deflected the attempt at baiting him but also subtly critiqued the notion that Putin could somehow leverage such remarks against him.
Context and Broader Commentary
The President didn’t stop at the reporter’s question. In the same briefing, he addressed other geopolitical issues:
On Ukraine and Russia: Trump questioned how Putin could be seen as disrespecting him by attacking Ukraine. He recalled that Russia began its offensive in 2022 during Biden’s administration and has continued its actions since, contrasting it with the lack of similar queries directed at President Biden.
Saudi Arabia Negotiations: Trump mentioned ongoing talks in Saudi Arabia between Ukraine and Russia, suggesting that “very big things” could happen later in the week. While he stopped short of making a firm prediction, his optimistic tone was evident.
Government Shutdown Concerns: Shifting gears, Trump also weighed in on domestic political matters. He expressed confidence that Republicans would pass a continuing resolution to avoid a government shutdown, though he admitted that uncertainty remained, noting that a shutdown could still occur over the weekend.
Final Thoughts
This incident, captured on video, highlights not only Trump’s distinctive style of handling challenging questions but also his broader commentary on both international and domestic affairs. As the video circulates and sparks debate, it remains a clear example of the President’s ability to deflect criticism while keeping the focus on his own narrative.

Very good. Wow, it's a lot of people. That's a lot of people. Any questions about
what sanctions or tariffs and when we're
looking at a lot of things. We big meetings coming up, as you know, in Saudi Arabia that's going to include Russia. It will be Ukraine. We'll see if we can get something done. I like to get something done. A lot of people died this week, as you know, in Ukraine, not only Ukrainians, but Russians, so. I think everybody wants to see it get done. We're going to make a lot of progress, I believe, this week. disrespecting you by attacking Ukraine when you disrespecting you by attacking Ukraine. What did he do? Well, he's attacking Ukraine. Is he disrespecting me? Who are you with? I'm Michael Burn. You've lost a lot of credibility. Go ahead. What else? Very Oh, I think the tariffs are going to be the greatest thing we've ever done as a country. It's going to make our country rich again. We have many companies, as you know, auto companies are opening up plants now. We've had 4 or 5 announced already, but many more are coming. And we're basically going to take back the money, a lot of the money that we've given away over many decades. We've lost our jobs. We've lost our factories. We've lost 90,000 factories since the beginning of NAFTA. It's not that long ago, 90,000 factories. Think of that, and we're going to get them back and they're coming back and they're coming back in records. Look at what happened with the big chip company, the biggest in the world, by far the most powerful chip company in the world, from Taiwan. And they're going in with $200 billion of money and they're going to build something that's going to give us 35 to 40% of the chip market in just in one company. No, it's going to bring it back and I think it's going to make us bring us to a level that we've never had before
