South Beach to North Beach: Starting near uShaka Marine World (at the Point), you’ve got South Beach, which is quieter but still lively with local families. Moving north, you hit Dairy Beach (great for surfing and events like surf comps), then North Beach, a hotspot for swimming and sunbathing with wider sands and lifeguards on duty. The water’s warm year-round, averaging 20-25°C, but currents can be strong—stick to patrolled areas.
Promenade: The recently revamped promenade runs parallel to the beaches along Marine Parade (now O.R. Tambo Parade). It’s wide, paved, and perfect for walking, jogging, or cycling. You’ll find vendors selling crafts, ice creams, and Zulu beadwork, plus spots to grab a bunny chow or shawarma with ocean views.
