D.C. (Dist. of Criminals), March 9, 2025 — In an exclusive interview with Maria Bartiromo, President Trump reflected on the stark contrast in reactions during his recent address to Congress, calling out Democrats for their refusal to stand, applaud, or even acknowledge moments of national unity.

“No matter what I do, they’re gonna sit there angry, insolent,” Trump said, describing the scene of Democrats holding protest signs while Republicans celebrated key policy victories. “I could cure the worst disease in history, and they’d still sit there with sour faces.”

Trump expressed disbelief over the Democratic Party’s focus on radical social issues like “transgender for everybody” and men in women’s sports, arguing that their positions are increasingly out of step with everyday Americans.

“They were there fighting for it,” he said. “I try and say to myself, is there something I don’t understand? But we don’t understand it. It makes no sense.”

The president pointed out the irony of Democrats openly campaigning on tax hikes, something he says he has never seen in his decades of watching politics.

“All my life, I’ve watched politicians say, ‘We will cut your taxes.’ These people are saying, ‘We’re gonna give you the biggest tax increase ever.’ And that’s what they’re running on.”

Trump encouraged Republicans to “take that night and run your midterms” based on the overwhelming public response to his speech, which drew record ratings.

But what stood out most to Trump was Democrats’ refusal to acknowledge moments of profound human tragedy.

“I’m talking about some young child with cancer, a young, beautiful girl like Laken Riley who was killed. They don’t stand for the mother, devastated, numb with grief. They don’t stand for the young boy who just wants to be a cop. They don’t stand. They just sit there, angry.”

Trump noted that the only moment Democrats reacted was when he mentioned Ukraine—led, he said, by Sen. Elizabeth Warren, whom he mockingly referred to as “Pocahontas.”

“The only thing that got them clapping was Ukraine,” he said. “That tells you everything.”

As Trump continues to highlight what he sees as the radical decline of the Democratic Party, he predicted that their tone-deaf obsession with extreme policies would lead to their downfall.

“I think they’re gonna end up being a minor party if they keep going like this,” he concluded.
