Stolen motorbikes worth 50,000 euros discovered in the ancient undergrounds of Naples: seizure of a cave in the Sanità district

An operation by the Carabinieri has brought to light the discovery of stolen vehicles in the undergrounds of Naples, precisely in the Sanità district, in the Stella neighborhood. During a control service, the police noticed a small iron door ajar in vico II Severi, in Capodimonte, which caught their attention:

Entering the cave, located a few meters from the Basilica of San Severo, the Carabinieri discovered a real depot of stolen motorcycles. Inside, they also found motorcycle carcasses, dozens of spare parts, and a landfill of waste materials and garbage. But the most significant discovery was that of two high-powered motorcycles, whose total value is around 50 thousand euros, which were found to be stolen. The motorcycles were promptly returned to their rightful owners, while the cave was seized for the relevant investigations. The operation had a broader scope, with the Carabinieri identifying 60 people, 30 of whom were already known to the police, and checking 20 vehicles. During the checks, 2 cars and 10 scooters were seized, with a total of 27 traffic fines, for a total amount of 43 thousand euros.
