Mandla, Madhya Pradesh – A viral video from a government hospital in Mandla district has triggered widespread concern over hygiene and patient safety. The footage, which surfaced recently, shows multiple rats roaming freely in the children's ward, with some seen near the head of a patient lying in bed.

The incident has raised serious questions about sanitation standards at the hospital, which serves a predominantly tribal population. The video captures rats crawling over patients' belongings and near beds, underscoring the poor hygiene conditions. In one particularly alarming instance, a rat was spotted close to a sleeping child's head.

Following public outcry, hospital officials acknowledged lapses in cleanliness and assured stricter pest control measures. Public Health Engineering Minister Sampatiya Uike condemned the situation as negligence and ordered an investigation. Mandla District Collector Dilip Kumar Yadav has also initiated a probe and promised strict action against those responsible.

In response, the hospital administration has intensified cleaning efforts and implemented additional pest control measures. The incident has reignited concerns over sanitation and maintenance in government healthcare facilities, with renewed calls for improved infrastructure and accountability.
