Bomb Cyclone Next Week in US

Out of the Pacific a huge weather system is racing to the west coast, expected to arrive on the coast by the 12th of March. Thereafter, it picks up strength and becomes a huge bomb cyclone in the central states by the 14th. I have no idea how one prepares for such a thing, but I sure hope you people east of the Rockies do.
