This Debate Was a Joke

The Liberal leadership debates were nothing like a real political debate—they were more like a carefully scripted infomercial. Instead of challenging each other, candidates shielded Mark Carney, avoided real issues like rising crime, border security, and bail reform, and spent their time talking about Trump instead of fixing Canada’s problems.

With 400,000 supposed new Liberal members, you’d think the race would be competitive. But less than 25% have been verified, and even fewer have actually voted. At this rate, about 50,000 people will decide Canada’s next prime minister—out of 40 million Canadians.

So, was this a real leadership race or just a staged handoff to Mark Carney?
