Genesis 15 is a powerful chapter where God makes an everlasting covenant with Abram, promising that his descendants will be as numerous as the stars and that they will inherit the land of Canaan. Abram expresses concern over having no heir, but God assures him that his own son will inherit the promise. In a sacred vision, God confirms His covenant by passing through the sacrificial offering as a smoking furnace and a burning lamp.
