How to Start the Quest

Trigger: The quest begins automatically upon entering the cave. You’ll encounter a Sacred Simulacrum (a stone statue) near an ancient tree. After a brief dialogue, interact with the butterfly on its head to officially start the quest.
Quest Objective: Chase the Butterflies into the Medicine Jar (0/5)
The main task is to locate and guide five butterflies back to the medicine jar. Each butterfly is tied to a puzzle or challenge. Here’s how to find and capture them:
Butterfly #1 (Green Butterfly)
Location: South of the Sacred Simulacrum, inside a small cave.
Puzzle: The butterfly is trapped in a large cauldron behind a barrier.
Find a movable small jar nearby (using Adeptal Energy, default key "T").
Place the jar on the stone platform next to the empty cauldron to remove its barrier.
Retrieve the second small jar from the now-accessible cauldron.
Place both small jars on the two stone platforms in front of the cauldron with the butterfly.
Result: The barrier lifts, the butterfly flies to the medicine jar, and you get an Exquisite Chest.
Butterfly #2 (Purple Butterflies)
Location: West of the first butterfly’s location, near a broken jar with purple butterflies circling it.
Challenge: Interact with the butterflies to start a mini-game where you must catch four scattered purple butterflies.
On top of two small pots with red flowers (left of the starting point).
Inside the large broken jar (right of the starting point).
On a small stalagmite (further right).
On top of a tall stalagmite (use an Anemo character to activate the windmill mechanism or climb manually).
Result: Completing the challenge spawns an Exquisite Chest, and a purple butterfly flies to the medicine jar.
Butterfly #3 (Yellow Butterfly)
Location: Northwest of the second butterfly, near a Sacred Simulacrum pedestal.
Puzzle:
Pick up the displaced Simulacrum statue and place it on the glowing pedestal.
Climb the tallest stalagmite nearby and face the cave wall to spot a mural with a yellow butterfly.
The butterfly emerges from the mural when you approach.
Result: The butterfly flies to the medicine jar, and an Exquisite Chest appears.
Butterfly #4 (Red Butterfly)
Location: North of the yellow butterfly, in a room blocked by a spider web on higher ground.
Challenge:
Break the spider web by attacking the explosive barrels nearby (use a bow character to avoid damage).
Destroy the breakable jars inside to reveal the red butterfly.
Defeat the Hilichurls that spawn after breaking the jars.
Result: The red butterfly flies to the medicine jar, and you get an Exquisite Chest.
Butterfly #5 (Blue Butterfly)
Location: East of the yellow butterfly, near a waterfall and a Time Trial Challenge.
Challenge:
Start the Time Trial and collect the required particles within the time limit.
Use the Golden Carp’s Leap or climb to reach the medicine jar hanging above, where the blue butterfly hides.
Result: The butterfly flies to the medicine jar, completing the set of five.
Next Steps
Talk to the Sacred Simulacrum: Return to the initial statue near the ancient tree. A cutscene plays, showing the butterflies reviving the tree.
Investigate the Ancient Tree: Interact with the tree to obtain the "Ancient Tree Branch" quest item. A Luxurious Chest (10 Primogems) spawns nearby.
Teleport to Adeptus’s Repose: Interact with the three butterflies hovering over the water behind the chest to teleport to Adeptus’s Repose.
Look for the Medicine Jar: Climb the large medicine jar in front of you and use the Ancient Tree Branch to investigate it. This triggers a cutscene and removes a barrier to a hidden vault.
Explore the Hidden Vault: Enter the vault to find another Luxurious Chest (20 Primogems). Investigate the "Ancient Text (I)" on the left side of the wooden shelf to trigger dialogue and complete the quest.
