Saturday Studies Being Thankful 3-8-2025

We are starting a new study for a few Saturdays on the subject of being "thankful". A Bible search engine for the words "thank", "thanks", and "thankful" resulted in 103 verses that referenced one of those words. We start the study with my favorite passage concerning giving thanks to the Lord from Luke 17:11-19. It's the story of Jesus healing ten lepers, but only one of them returning to thank Him and worship Him. Then we look at the familiar passage of Philippians 4:6-7, which also includes being thankful.
Then we go back to the first reference of the subject of giving thanks in 2nd Samuel chapter 22, and from there we go to 1st Chronicles chapter 16. Our goal in the study of giving thanks and being thankful is to remind us of the importance of thanking God for the many blessings He has given us, especially our eternal salvation because of Jesus' finished work for us on the Cross.
