In Communist China, the number of P1 and P2 labs exceeds tens of thousands.

P1 (BSL-1) labs can handle low-risk organisms that are not pathogenic to healthy adults, such as non-pathogenic Escherichia coli.

P2 (BSL-2) labs are used for organisms that may cause illness but are not easily transmitted through the air, such as HIV (AIDS virus) or Salmonella.

In Communist China, there are P3 (BSL-3) labs, and according to publicly available data, there are 89 of them. These labs handle organisms that can cause serious diseases and are easily transmissible, such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis or the SARS virus. They are mainly concentrated in Beijing, Wuhan, and Guangzhou.

As for P4 (BSL-4) labs in Communist China, these handle pathogens that may be fatal and have no effective treatments or vaccines, such as the Ebola virus or Lassa fever virus. There are two such labs: one in Wuhan and one in Harbin!!
