Australia's east coast urged to stay indoors as Cyclone Alfred nears

Thousands of residents in Australia's east were told to prepare themselves and their properties, with some ordered to evacuate on Friday (March 7) ahead of Tropical Cyclone Alfred's landfall. The cyclone is expected to land on Saturday (March 8) and has already brought heavy rain, huge waves and strong winds overnight that cut off power, erode beaches and close airports.
