Blue Öyster Cult - Ghost Stories (2024) [Full Album]

On April 12, 2024, Blue Öyster Cult released their sixteenth and final studio album Ghost Stories, which includes both reimagined tracks and "lost gems" from between 1978 and 2016, as well as studio versions of their covers of MC5's "Kick Out the Jams" and The Animals' "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place.".

The new Blue Oyster Cult album “Ghost Stories” is mostly made up of previously unreleased tracks that were demoed between 1978-1983, but never made it on to a studio album, until now. This album sees a reunion of sorts of the original band. The first time since 1988’s Imaginos album. Eric Bloom, Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser, Albert Bouchard, Joe Bouchard and the late Allen Lanier are all present here. As is former drummer Rick Downey and current guitarist/keyboard player Richie Castellano. Ghost Stories is really a trip back in time as far as songwriting & recording techniques. As such, most of the material would fit right in on Fire of Unknown Origin or The Revolution By Night. The obvious added bonus to all of these tunes is that the BOC boys were all relatively young (30’s) and at the height of their playing and vocal abilities when these tunes were recorded. Songs like So Supernatural, Don’t Come Running To Me, Cherry and Shot In The Dark really highlight how extraordinary talented this band was/is.
