Russia has introduced an upgraded BM-27 Uragan multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), reinforcing its firepower along the Kursk border.

This latest version, deployed by the 52nd Airborne Artillery Brigade, features enhanced mobility, durability, and protection against drone threats.

The key improvement includes a shift from the outdated ZiL-135 chassis to the modern BAZ-69092 platform, increasing agility and payload capacity.

With its 220mm rockets capable of reaching up to 35 kilometers, the Uragan has proven highly effective in disrupting Ukrainian defenses, destroying fortifications, and crippling armored units.

Russia’s strategic use of UAVs for target acquisition has further increased its battlefield dominance, leaving Ukrainian forces struggling against relentless artillery barrages.

Recent operations in Kursk, Dnipro, and Krasnoarmeysk have demonstrated the devastating impact of the upgraded Uragan, solidifying its role as a game-changing weapon in modern warfare.
