Damascus, VA - Checking in on Trail Town USA as the 2025 Hiking Season Begins!

Late February, I decided to head up to Damascus Virginia to see how the Helene recovery was doing and to see if they were ready for hikers on the Appalachian Trail and Creeper Trail. I've got to say, the town is looking good!

The Damascus Diner should be open by the end of March 2025! In the meantime, you can enjoy their sister restaurant, Wilson's Cafe & Grill, as my wife and I did on this trip. We also checked out Damascus Outfitter, Adventure Damascus, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC), Laurel Creek Park and the town itself.
