January 2014 - NDR author Hubert Seipel conducted the world's first television interview with Edward Snowden in Moscow after his escape from Hong Kong . Now the explosive conversation - was already broadcast on ARD -

When asked if Snowden had received threats, he replied: "There are clear threats, but I sleep very well. There was an article in an online portal called Buzzfeed in which officials from the Pentagon and the NSA were interviewed. They were given anonymity so they could say what they wanted, and they told the reporter that they wanted to kill me. These people - and they are government officials - said they would be only too happy to put a bullet in my head or poison me when I came back from the supermarket and then watch me die in the shower."

In the program “Servus Journal Special – Edward Snowden : The Interview,” the Viennese data protection expert Andreas Krisch and the political scientist and publicist Andrew Denison (Transatlantic Network) analyze the interview.

In 2013, former NSA agent Edward Snowden shocked the world with his revelations about the US secret service practices . He speaks to Seipel about the NSA 's methods , about economic espionage and suggests that not only Angela Merkel but the entire German government may have been wiretapped. And he provides personal insights, talks about his career and about his hope of being able to return to the USA at some point .
