He also underscored the need for a militarized presence at the border, citing the growing sophistication of Mexican cartels, which are now deploying weaponized drones. However, Vance did not address the rise in illegal arrivals by boat along California’s shores. While the numbers remain small, the situation could escalate if left unchecked.
