Hollow Triumph (1948)

Also known as The Scar. John Muller (Paul Henreid) goes on the run after a botched casino heist. To evade capture, he assumes the identity of a lookalike psychiatrist, Dr. Bartok—but his plan unravels when he realizes Bartok has a distinguishing facial scar on the opposite side. As deception, fate, and irony collide, Muller’s desperate bid for a fresh start leads to an inevitable downfall. The film is known for its moody cinematography and bleak, fatalistic tone.
