Lama Dawa's Commentary:
This is an extremely important quote.

What Patril Rinpoche is explaining here is that, as he says, the clear sky of your mind is never stained, even during the greatest confusion.

Wow.

So no matter how disturbed we are, upset we are, frustrated we are, or confused we are, even during those moments, even when we're feeling upset or pain or worry, even then, the sky of our mind, the actual nature of our mind itself, is not affected.

This is something through deep meditation we can develop conviction and understanding of this, and this will give rise to great confidence when we have confidence that this is true, that the mind is always clear, always present.

We can start to let go and detach from all the concerns and worries of our life.

They may not go away, but we don't have to get so consumed by them and take them quite so seriously, which gives us much more inner freedom and confidence.
