Prophecy Simplified: Seals, Sorrow and the Second Coming!

In the last episode, we looked at the 5th seal in Revelation, what the souls under the alter represented in history, and how this seal leads to the 6th seal.
In this video, we look at the last two seals; their historical significance, the natural disasters that have already fulfilled prophecy, and… What do expect before Christ returns!
Prophecy does not need to be complicated. Once you understand the basics, and realise that Christ’s two witnesses throughout history (the Old and New Testament) are intertwined, the themes in prophecy begin to make sense.

Up until now, we have been looking back at history. Now, the last two seals push us into a time close to us, and into the future.

“And I beheld when He had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” Revelation 6:12-17

The 6th Seal takes a dramatic turn. This unsealing covers both past and future events!
If we look back in history, we will see that “great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth…” actually did occur.
On November 1st 1755, the Lisbon earthquake and its after-effects were felt all over Europe, reaching Northwest Africa, and even leading to a tsunami in the Caribbean. It is still considered one of the most destructive earthquakes in European history, and one of the greatest natural disasters in modern times.
What about the ‘blackening of the sun’? There was indeed a ‘Dark Day’ on May 19, 1780. The sun did not literally go ‘black,’ rather the light of the sun could not be seen, in which everything appeared dark or black. On this same day, another phenomena occurred - when the moon did rise, it had the appearance of blood.

Fifty-three years later, a spectacular display showered the Northern Hemisphere on "The Night the Stars Fell" in the Leonid meteor shower storm of 1833. On November 12th and 13th of 1833 this was the first time this spectacular storm occurred, with an estimated 100,000 meteors per hour! These showers do occur about every 33 years, interestingly, the next one is due November 2025…
However, this description also carries a future application…
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24:29-30

“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.” Joel 2:31

Here is a dual prophecy… Historical events, and events that will take place just before Christ returns.
The last aspect of the 6th seal is obvious. Christ’s glorious return, and the sad fate of those that rejected His repeated calls through both Jesus’ personal ministry, His ‘two witnesses’, and those that came after Him.
And this is the exciting connection between the 6th and 7th seal!

“And when He had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.” Revelation 8:1

What is this silence? The 6th seal shows end-time events and the Second-coming.

“When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory.” Matthew 25:31
This seems to indicate that heaven will be empty!
The time frame is an interesting one… In bible prophecy 1 day equals to be 1 year (this will be useful to know in future prophecies)
“After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.” Numbers 14:34
“For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.” Ezekiel 4:5
And Jesus even spoke of this day for a year aspect in Luke 13:32. ‘“Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’ In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!”’ Jesus’ ministry lasted 3 ½ years, at the end of His ministry, He was betrayed, and crucified.
One hour is a 24th part of a prophetic year. Based on the Jewish calendar of 30 days to a month, one hour would be about two weeks. Half an hour would be half of two weeks, therefore seven literal days.
And this is the puzzle… It appears Christ has come in the 6th seal events. This space of time seems to indicate a timeframe of Christ’s return to earth, and the return to Heaven.
