Erwin, TN - Appalachian Trail Damage, Reroute and Progress at Uncle Johnny's Hostel

The reroute is determined and the rebuilding of Uncle Johnny's Hostel is well under way! While funds are being secured to rebuild the Chestoa Pike Bridge, the AT Conservancy has re-routed the Appalachian Trail 3+ miles on narrow roads with little to no shoulder area for walking.

I start this video in the parking lot of the Mountain Inn Hotel. I then head over to Chestoa Pike Rd where the Appalachian Trail picks up heading NOBO and show the re-route (driving SOBO) towards Uncle Johnny's Hostel.

We end at Uncle Johnny's where I show the progress on the rebuild after the flood and wind damage that happened during Hurricane Helene.
