Reactions Split Along Party Lines Following President Trump's Congressional Address

Craig DeLuz, Director of Communications for the California Republican Assembly, defended the President's address. DeLuz criticized the Democrats for their apparent opposition to the President's policies, stating that they had not presented themselves well during the speech.

“I thought that the Democrats purported themselves very poorly this evening,” DeLuz said.

DeLuz encouraged Democrats to find common ground with the President in order to push forward policies that could benefit both sides.

“Contrary to popular belief, Donald Trump is not an ideologue. He is a person who wants to make a deal. And if I were Democrats, I would be thinking: What is it that I desire? What policies would I like to see put in place that I am willing to support the things that the president wants?” DeLuz said.
