Parts of Texas, New Mexico see tornado watches, snow, and sandstorms amid major storm

A severe weather system blew through North Texas early Tuesday morning, leaving behind major damage in numerous locations. A tornado watch was in effect for the entire region for hours, and some areas heard outdoor warning sirens.

A cold front dropped temperatures more than 20 degrees overnight, bringing snow to parts of the Texas panhandle. As well, high winds and blowing dust swept across large parts of west and central Texas on Tuesday, March 4, reducing visibility.

Meanwhile, blinding dust storms swept through southern New Mexico on Monday, leaving numerous vehicles stranded and causing multiple accidents.
