Saburo Sakai was one of Japan’s greatest fighter aces in World War II, taking down over 60 enemy planes in his Mitsubishi Zero. In 1942, he was shot in the head, which blinded one eye and paralyzed part of his body. Miraculously, he flew 600 miles back to base, navigating by memory. Despite his injuries, he returned to combat, proving he was truly unstoppable.
