EVACUATION OF CONGO RESIDENTS, BGC TNI MONUSCO TASK FORCE CONGO MOVES QUICKLY TO PROTECT RESIDENTS

TOB BOGORO — Soldiers from Task Force INDORDB XXXIX-F MONUSCO Congo successfully evacuated civilians who were victims of armed bandits in Nyamamba village, Njugu province, Congo, Central Africa. This step adds to the long list of TNI soldiers under the United Nations Garuda Contingent in maintaining peace.

Commander of Task Force (Dansatgas) TNI INDORDB XXXIX-F Monusco Congo Colonel Inf Imir Faishal, Tuesday (4/3/2025), confirmed the success.

Colonel Inf Imir Faishal said that when TOB Bogoro was carrying out Long Range Patrol (LRP) activities in the AOR TOB Bogoro area, he received information from Mr. AKHIM, a member of COMMUNITY LOCALITY HUMAN RIGHT
that around 50 residents were successfully evacuated via river/lake routes to Tchomia village, NJUGU province, CONGO by local residents using boats.

Responding to the information, the LRP Team consisting of 25 people led by Captain Inf Suwarno consisting of the Quick Response Team and medical team to go to the scene in order to carry out Protection of Civilian (POC).

Upon arrival at the scene, the LRP team led by Captain Inf Suwarno immediately secured the area and provided medical assistance to the victims. The victims consisted of 1 (one) person who died from blood loss during the evacuation journey due to being hit by grenade fragments. 8 (eight) people were injured due to being hit by rocks and hard objects while trying to save themselves

Some residents have been further evacuated to the nearest hospital and to a safer place in the Tchomia area.

For residents who suffered serious injuries, they were evacuated to the SALAMA Hospital in the center of Bunia. From the residents of Tcomia, Njugu province and the families of the victims of Nyamamba village, we would like to express our gratitude to the INDORDB XXXIX-F Task Force for evacuating residents who were affected by the disaster.

Dansatgas INDORDB XXXIX-F Monusco Colonel Inf Imir Faishal stated that a quick response from his staff was a must as a form of Protection of Civilian (POC) in evacuating victims.
