Down the Creek - Cody Tyler

This one's for the hunters and lovers of God's Creation and the outdoors. I wrote this song in 2022, thinking about how the hunting seasons have changed in my home state of Pennsylvania.

Rifle season for whitetail deer used to begin the Monday after Thanksgiving. Hunters who were fortunate and dedicated enough to belong to a deer camp would often head up north into the untamed PA wilderness the day after Thanksgiving and enjoy a relaxing weekend before the season opened. They'd sit around a fire, tell hunting stories, and maybe enjoy a few adult libations or an organic recreational substance to aid in sleeping on a lumpy cot.

Now, the season begins the Saturday after Thanksgiving and that weekend to relax and catch up with hunting buddies is all but lost in our fast-paced society driven increasingly by instant gratification.

This song is about slowing down, losing the WiFi and LTE signals, and enjoying good company in the beauty and mystique that is the woods.
