The Lovely Effects of Alcohol
Early on a Saturday night, Florida Dispatch received several 911 calls reporting a white Volkswagen driving into oncoming traffic and nearly hitting other cars. An officer located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on the 19-year-old driver who was reportedly in a state of disarray. It was obvious to the officers that the female was heavily intoxicated and she strengthened their beliefs by taking an incredibly long amount of time to put on her shorts. Although the female had a valid medical marijuana card, her stash of 17 grams of cannabis, two small dab containers, two pre-rolled joints, and one pre-rolled blunt was not stored in proper containers and was seized into evidence for destruction. The 19-year-old girl provided two breath samples resulting in a BAC of .167 and .171, which is a little more than twice the legal limit of 0.08. She was charged with DUI and released the next day on a $1,000 bond.
