Blue Ice - a Sign of Spring – on Baal's River

This Sunday I put on my boots and took my camera and headed down to the bay, which is now full of blue ice! All of us who live in Greenland's capital received an FB update from our University explaining that one of the tidal glaciers at the bottom of the fjord, one of the many that drain the Greenland Ice Sheet, has started calving or shedding icebergs record early this year, after the fjord sea ice in there melted away in a storm in February. So that's why the 'beach' out here by the ocean is chock full of icebergs and ice cubes in every size and shape.
