Reflection on Matthew 24:6-7

Matthew 24:6-7
New King James Version
6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for [a]all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, [b]pestilences and earthquakes in various places.

War is a harsh reality—one that those who have served in combat know all too well. The sounds, sights, and the weight of responsibility leave a mark that never truly fades. This verse speaks not just of wars fought with weapons but of the more profound struggles within nations, people, and even ourselves.
As veterans and warriors, we understand that war is inevitable. Conflict will arise, and history will repeat itself in power, fear, and survival cycles. But Jesus tells us, “See to it that you are not alarmed.” That is the challenge—to endure, to walk forward, not with fear, but with faith.

Our faith does not erase war or silence storms but gives us the strength to stand firm amidst them. We endure because we know this world is temporary, that justice belongs to God, and that true peace is not found in treaties or ceasefires but in Him alone.
So tonight, as we reflect on the state of the world and the battles we have fought—both in war and in life—let us take heart. Let us remain vigilant, steadfast, and faithful. Because in the end, though war may rage, our victory is in Christ.

“Lord, in a world full of conflict, give us strength to endure, wisdom to discern, and faith to stand firm. May we be instruments of peace wherever You call us. Amen.” Jot down a script to use during the recording...
