On February 28, 2025, during a U.S.-Ukraine summit, several points of conflict emerged. Negotiations fell apart when Zelenskyy refused to sign an agreement that would have secured Ukraine’s rare earth mineral resources for the United States. Despite the U.S. providing years of military and financial support to Ukraine, Zelenskyy’s apparent lack of gratitude angered President Trump and Vice President JD Vance. The American public is furious about Zelenskyy’s behavior. Trump has been working to prevent the war between Russia and Ukraine, but Zelenskyy, seemingly left with no options, is betraying the kindness the U.S. has shown and appears intent on negotiating deals elsewhere, sparking relentless criticism. Ukraine no longer has any leverage. Ukraine owes the United States, and when the U.S. offers help, they should take it. However, if Zelenskyy continues to assert Ukraine’s rights with an ungrateful attitude, the U.S. will no longer be able to assist Ukraine.
