Lama Dawa's Commentary:
Of all the poisons in the mind, pride, jealousy, ignorance, attachment, anger is considered the most destructive, anger does rob us of our peace of mind.

It not only affects our mind, it affects our health too, raises our blood pressure and causes many, many problems.

Anger can be approached with compassion for oneself, and particularly through the practice of patience, and by giving oneself some space and not reacting so quickly, we offer ourselves an opportunity for some spaciousness to come in before we just have a knee-jerk reaction of anger or violence.

In this way, we can diffuse a situation.

And we create the possibility of allowing a bigger perspective and actual wisdom to come into the situation.
