Jordanian facing job scarcity resorts to crafting wooden lamps

In his workshop in Amman, Youssef al-Shanti delicately turns tree branches into decorative table and floor lamps. The 35-year-old, who majored in radio and television in 2018, used to work as a freelancer in the film and TV series industry. Facing job scarcity, he paved his way out of unemployment a couple of months ago by turning to crafting wood for a living, following his father's footsteps.
