This UNESCO World Heritage site is a peaceful and relaxing city to walk around, and gaze at the colourful buildings & artwork, or to just simply take a leisurely wander along by the river. But if you do go down by the river, look out for the Monitor Lizards, as that's where they live!

It's a beautiful day in Melaka, even when it's raining, but who doesn't like 'walking in the rain'?
This is a great place to walk the streets, and Listen to the ASMR sounds while gently exploring this Heritage City. We hope you've all enjoy our 'Melaka Walking Story'

šŸŒ Malacca (Malay: Melaka) is a coastal city in the state of the same name on the Malay Peninsula in the western part of Malaysia. The Strait of Malacca is named after the city.
Malacca has about 579,000 inhabitants (2010). The port only plays a role for coastal shipping, as it does not have enough draught for overseas ships. Since 2008, Malacca has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List together with George Town.

Malacca offers a natural harbour protected from storms by a ring of small islands. The Malacca River divides the city into two halves. The area around Malacca was once covered by tropical rainforest, but this has now given way to plantation farming. In the hinterland of Malacca there are also rich deposits of tin.
