President Trump signs an order stripping security clearance for Covington & Burling

Donald Trump: "This is a good one. Is everyone listening? Deranged Jack Smith. Let's call it the firm of Deranged Jack Smith. Go ahead.

A law firm that provided pro bono legal services to the special counsel's office under the leadership of Jack Smith was Covington & Burling.

As a result of those actions, we are going to suspend and place under review the security clearances of the attorneys and employees of that firm who worked with Jack Smith’s team. And we will continue to hold accountable those who were part of the weaponization of the government and supported it.

And they will do this with other law firms over time, right? We are evaluating all options.

The weaponization of our system by law firms, even through pro bono work, only seeks to obstruct and slow down the government. No one knows more about this than I do, and I hope it never happens again."
