PANICKING Netanyahu's War Threats BACKFIRE!

Right, so with phase one of the Gaza ceasefire due to end this coming Saturday, the 1st March, its crunch time for Benjamin Netanyahu. He knows he cannot afford to move to phase 2, he cannot agree any extension to the ceasefire in all likelihood either, because his government simply will not survive it. Bezalel Smotrich’s Religious Zionism Party is ready and waiting to do the bidding of their masters in the settler movement and bring Netanyahu’s government down if he doesn’t deliver what they want, which is a return to war, the enactment of Donald Trump’s ethnic cleansing plans and more land they hope for them to settle in.
So it shouldn’t be a big surprise really to see him finally showing his hand on how he’s going to end matters. We saw a sign of this several days ago, we’ve seen further signs of it in relation to the latest rounds of hostage releases, or non releases as the case may be, but now he’s got his ducks all in a row, will the ceasefire last until Saturday, or will it get sunk even sooner?
Right, so first and foremost the plan at this moment in time, given Israel has failed to actively negotiate any sort of phase 2 deal, not being prepared to waste their time on something Netanyahu’s job depends on not agreeing to, is to get an extension to phase one of the deal.
Steve Witkoff, US President Donald Trump's envoy for the Middle East, is heading back to Tel Aviv this week to discuss prolonging the initial phase of the Gaza ceasefire but he’s running out of time when Saturday is times up day.
What are they going to talk about? What is the common ground they can build on? Well when this was put to Witkoff in US media, his go to response was to say that Israeli Benjamin Netanyahu does not want Hamas to govern Gaza, which is painfully stating the obvious, you could always go with Egypt’s plan to rebuild Gaza in which case, their plan involves a new administration for Gaza that is neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority, but something else, but Trump is still to officially be presented with that plan until after a summit of Arab states in Cairo on the 4th March, which is unfortunate because phase one will be over and Israel will almost certainly be back to bombing Gaza.
Witkoff also claims Netanyahu’s red lines are protecting Israel and seeing the release of the hostages, so I’m not sure if he’s daft enough to believe that or thinks we’re daft enough to, but if I were you Steve, I’d be listening to all the families of those hostages blaming Netanyahu for them still being there and in too many cases, for them never returning alive. I can’t believe anybody really still thinks at this point Netanyahu is concerned for the hostages held in Gaza, he really isn’t.
Nevertheless, not knowing what might be discussed and offered, you can’t rule out an extension to phase one entirely, even though all the signs are there that Netanyahu is preparing to resume the genocide that must continue for him to stay in post.
The first hint of this went virtually unnoticed last week, the media made very little of it as per usual, but it should have been a big, fat red flag when Israel inexplicably shut the Kerem Shalom Crossing which has been the main point of aid getting into the Gaza Strip. Where the Rafah Border Crossing is far better known, the fear of letting Gazans out, escaping into Egypt means aid has entered through Kerem Shalom, which is a three-way checkpoint on the Egyptian border at the point where Gaza and Israel meet. At the end of last week, this was closed, no reason for it having been given.
Since then of course there was the hostage releases at the weekend, another 6 Israelis released by Hamas, and the image that went viral from that event was the sight of Israeli hostage Omer Shen Tov kissing two of his Hamas captors on the head before he was released, blowing apart all the nonsense Netanyahu had been propagandising about strangulations and the abuse Israelis were enduring under Hamas. He’d been looking at his own prisons I daresay, but this parading of captives as Israel likes to put it, was too much this time it seems, the kissing of captors more than Netanyahu’s weaselly black gut could stomach and he cancelled the release of the 600 Palestinian hostages Israel held because he didn’t like it. Petulant yes, all part of the plan to end the ceasefire? Could be as well.
As much as I’m sure he would have preferred to be able to pin breaking the ceasefire on Hamas and as much as some media outlets will work overtime to try and prove that, he needs it to end and any opportunity to do so, he’s going to jump on and so he has here, reneging on the release of hostages because he felt like it in effect.
In response, a Hamas spokesperson said on Monday that because Bibi is basically being a little b*tch, they would not engage in any new ceasefire talks or prisoner exchanges until Israel stops acting like they’ve been slighted here, like they are the victims of something and meet first stage requirements of the agreement and accused Netanyahu of blocking progress for personal gain, which is exactly what he is doing whilst also endangering the lives of the remaining Israeli captives who we know Netanyahu really does not care one iota about.
Certainly those who know that better than anyone are the families of those 600 Palestinians, now denied their loved ones freedom for who knows how long now?
Well, it didn’t take long for Netanyahu to make his new demands known, he had to come up with something, and so he has now called for the immediate release of all remaining Israeli captives all in one go. Now, Hamas offered this the other day as a precursor to phase 2 talks, that they’d literally do this all in one go, if Netanyahu agreed to phase 2.
Now I’m sure he thinks he’s being clever here, demanding something Hamas had already put on the table with a condition attached, but given Netanyahu has refused a seat at that table, to talk phase 2 he might’ve missed the memo. He might think this looks good where phase 2 talks, not getting anywhere without Israel aren’t especially newsworthy, but knowing that offer had already been laid down, we have to call Netanyahu out for this. If he doesn’t get his way, though, he’s saying the plan is to resume military operations and again restrict humanitarian aid distribution to those areas under international oversight, even as aid has been restricted anyway with that closure of Kerem Shalom.
According to Haaretz, Netanyahu is waiting for the new Israeli army chief of staff, Eyal Zamir, to assume command and finalize a detailed strategy, but the plan once atrocities resume reportedly includes the destruction of all buildings in Gaza City, refugee camps in central Gaza, and Khan Yunis, whether by airstrikes or ground operations. He is a psychotic, thin skinned fascist, I really can’t see how that can be beyond doubt now and an excerpt from The Cradle puts more flesh on these miserable bones:
‘Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel was "prepared to resume intense fighting at any moment" and vowed to achieve the war’s objectives of eliminating Hamas, whether through negotiation or "other means."
His comments come after Israel delayed the scheduled release of over 600 Palestinian prisoners following Hamas' return of six captives on Saturday, marking the final exchange under the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
Netanyahu has stalled talks on phase two, which would require an Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza, instead pledging to return and eliminate Hamas’ capabilities entirely, despite having objectively failed to do this despite the death and destruction they have meted out.
After 16 months of failing to achieve this, it remains unclear how the prime minister intends to do so now. Meanwhile, many in Israeli society are urging him to advance to phase two to secure the release of the remaining captives.’
I think it is safe to assume ‘other means’ are the preferable option, are frankly the only option that keeps him in power, which ultimately is all that matters, nothing else does and that means the ceasefire must fail.
I’m not the only one publicly saying this and thinking it either:
It all comes down to staying in power, it all comes down to pleasing Smotrich, restarting the genocide will bring Itamar Ben Gvir back into government, and the atrocities in the West Bank, where the settler movement are based, where the likes of Smotrich and Ben Gvir are based, they are both themselves settlers, such inhumanity keeps them sweet and it really does go to show what a sick society they preside over. The ceasefire is going to come to an end because Netanyahu never wanted it in the first place and can’t afford for it to continue, holding him responsible for how and when that happens is essential though, because he literally is as Xavier Abu Eid stated, the only one who wants it to fail. None of this mess in the Middle East can end, until his tenure as Prime Minister is ended and that is just a matter of fact now surely?
Certainly some who believe this and much of what I’ve discussed here in relation to hostage exchanges are the surviving members of the family of Sheri Bibas and her two young children, images of whom Netanyahu is still parading around despite the family asking him to stop propagandising their loss. However hypocrisy is still a word he doesn’t appear to understand the definition of, but for those that do, he’s been rightfully hammered for his disgusting antics, parading a picture around as he accuses Hamas of parading hostages and using that as justification to breach the ceasefire, possibly for the final time.
