Israel Deploys Tanks in West Bank

Israel has sent tanks into the occupied West Bank for the first time in more than 20 years. It says troops will remain in refugee camps for ‘the next year’ and Palestinians will be banned from returning to their homes.

The Israeli military has deployed tanks to Jenin, in the occupied West Bank for the first time in more than 20 years.
It's a major escalation in its offensive, north of the territory.
It comes more than a month into Israel's assault, that has forcibly displaced more than 40-thousand Palestinians from their homes.
Israel's defence minister says Palestinians will not be allowed to return, and that its troops will remain in several refugee camps for the next year.
