New Zealand beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets in the 6th match of CT-25. Michael Bracewell POTM.

The 6th Match of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was played between New Zealand and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium Rawalpindi on 24th February,2025. In this match New Zealand defeated Bangladesh by 5 wickets. In this match New Zealand Captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Bangladesh while batting first played very slowly and scored paltry total of 236 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs and gave target of 237 runs to New Zealand to win. In reply New Zealand made 240 runs for 5 wickets in 46.1 overs only and won the match by 5 wickets.
Bangladesh started very poorly and were 64 for 2 wickets in 13 overs. Bangladesh first lost the wicket of Tanzid Hasan who made 24 runs only caught by Kane Williamson of the bowling of Michael Bracewell. Mehidy Hasan Miraz was second to go caught by Mitchell Santner of the bowling of William ORourke and made 13 runs only.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto top scored with 77 runs from 110 balls hitting 9 fours. Jaker Ali made well complied 45 runs from 55 balls hitting 3 fours and one six. Rishad Hossain made 26 runs and no other batsmen could contribute significantly. Mustafizur Rahman remained not out on 3 runs.
Michael Bracewell took 4 wickets. Two wickets were taken by William ORourke and one wicket each went to Matt Henry and Kyle Jamieson. Bangladesh made 236 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs.
New Zealand while Chasing target of 237 runs to win started very badly and lost two wickets at the score of 15 runs in 3.3 overs and it looked a collapse in batting is on the cards.Will Young was first to go in the very first over of the match bold by Taskin Ahmed without scoring. Kane Williamson was second to go after scoring 5 runs.
Then Devon Conway with Rachin Ravindra added 57 from 73 balls for the 3rd wicket and consolidated the Indian innings. Devon Convey was 3rd to go out after playing brilliant knock of 30 runs from 45 balls hitting 6 fours.
Then Rachin Ravindra with Tom Latham added 129 runs from 136 balls for the 4th wicket and sealed the match for New Zealand. Rachin Ravindra was fourth to go out at the score of 201 runs. He played match winning knock of 112 runs from 105 balls hitting 12 fours and one six. Tom Latham was next to go run out after making superb 55 runs from 76 balls.
Glen Phillips remained unbeaten on 21 runs with Michael Bracewell not out on 11 runs and won the match for New Zealand.
Bangladesh bowlers tried hard to force the win but failed. One wicket each was taken by Taskin Ahmed,Nahid Rana,Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain.
New Zealand scored 240 runs for 5 wickets in 46.1 overs and won the match by 5 wickets. Michael Bracewell was named the Player of the Match.
