Driving & Hiking Santa Clara Truck Trail (Forest Route 3N17): San Gabriel Mountains (Angeles National Forest), CA.

Featuring: Magic Mountain (not the amusement park), Messenger Peak, Rocky Benchmark, and Mount Gleason.

The road was the true star of the day, especially since the hikes were easy. However, until the road once again reopened, it was a seriously long hike to get to each of the above listed summits. As far as I know, the road was closed to vehicles since the 2009 Station Fire. Now, since its open, these hikes suddenly became a piece of cake. I was pleased to take advantage of my great fortune!
