New Beginnings School for the Deaf Open House

So frustrating! Two families wanted to send their deaf children to New Beginnings School for the Deaf (NBSD), which is relocating to the city of Tam Ky, but couldn’t because regulations prohibited them from sending their children to a school in another district (with the school’s move, the families lived in an adjoining district). Since there was no deaf school where the two families lived, their children would not be able to attend school at all!

God worked through the New Beginnings Grand Opening to change all that! Government officials were invited. During the event, a father stood up and gave heartfelt thanks for what the school meant in his child's life. Then two students shared through sign language to tell their stories of isolation, boredom, and loneliness. They told about the difference that New Beginnings has made in their lives. All eyes were teary - including the government leaders.

After the ceremony, the Chief of Public Security declared that the two children from outside Tam Ky district could attend NBSD! Here is the snapshot of the celebration day!
