Georgia's HB268 Threatens Parental Rights with Speech Crackdowns and Child Surveillance

Rhonda Thomas of truthineducation.org warns that Georgia’s HB268, following HB1013 and HB520, criminalizes student and parent speech, risking felony charges, while enabling school surveillance and data-sharing with law enforcement and agencies like DFACS and DHS. Labeled as predictive policing, it undermines parental rights, potentially separating families, and screens kids for diagnoses like dyslexia to generate funding, despite vague wording. Thomas argues it exacerbates mental health issues by fostering fear and chaos in schools, conditioning a “soft generation” to rely on government over parents or churches. With a March 6 crossover deadline, she urges immediate calls to the House Education Committee to stop it. Contact: info@truthineducation.org for more information.

BKP speaks to Rhonda Thomas, truthineducation.org
The lawmakers have been trying to push mental health for years with HB1013, HB520 and now HB268.
Criminalizes speech. The student could face felony charges for what they are saying in schools, online, in public spaces. Parents could be punished for what they say.
Surveillance on our children and share the information with law enforcement. It is predictive policing. What happens when you label a child as a threat. The child will be silent and stigmatized.
As we fight to pass parent rights, this bill destroys parental rights.
Legal authority can easily be granted away from the parent. It will allow the agencies to barge into the family and separate the parents from the children. The schools will be able to share the information with DFACS and DHS.
DOE and Department of Behavioral Health fall underneath the DOD.
The bill is very vague.
We are screening our children for everything. Once the bill passed there are 3 levels. Everyone predicts screening and labelling our children. Those labels are diagnoses. They are screening a lot of children for Dyslexia, the data is sent out to organizations. Labels bring money.
Most legislators don’t read the bills, they don’t have the time to read the bills they trust the sponsors. They don't know the bills, they have their talking points. There is a much simpler way to keep students safe rather than tracking the children and labeling them. How is this going to stop mental health?
Once we brought into the schools the social agenda, it is causing the behavior, bullying, anxiety and the methodologies into the school. Then you add this that they are afraid of what they will do and say, it will cause more harm.
Our children are not accomplishing anything because the teachers are dumbing them down. They don’t have any control over the child. The system is set up for chaos in the school system and allows a soft generation. They will not know how to handle a difficult situation. There is a slow conditioning to lean on the government. The churches used to help fill the gap but they have stepped aside and allowed the government to fill the void. Everything was working in the direction of pushing the children into government care and not parental care.
Status of HB268, March 6th is crossover day. WE have a very short window of time. We need mass calls to the House education committee and your legislature. Needs to be phone calls. Email Rhonda at info@truthineducation.org for more information.
