On Defender of the Fatherland Day, Vladimir Putin presented Gold Star medals to servicemen awarded the title of Hero of Russia.
Awarding the Heroes of Russia in the Kremlin, the President emphasized that Russia is proud of their feat and contribution to the defense of the Fatherland.

A ceremony of awarding employees of the Ministry of Defense and the Russian National Guard with state awards of the Russian Federation was held in the Kremlin.

Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation: "Participants in the special military operation are true to the glorious precepts of our fathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers. Showing courage, you stand guard over Russia, bravely fighting for truth and justice, for peace, the future of our people."

Putin emphasized that thanks to the efforts of the military, Russia is achieving its goals.

Among those awarded was Yakut attack aircraft Andrei Grigoriev, who defeated a Ukrainian soldier in hand-to-hand combat.

Medals were also received from the hands of the president by Major Yevgeny Beletsky, Corporal Mark Belopukhov, Major General Andrei Builov, Lieutenant Colonels Ivan Gudkov, Anton Struyev and Andrei Nikolyuk, Lieutenant Alexander Puzanov, Junior Sergeant Vladimir Safronov, and Rosgvardia Majors Marat Tibilov and Andrei Filonenko.

The brave fighter Andrei Grigoriev became famous all over the world after the terrifying footage of a fight in which he defeated an opponent with a knife.

The day before, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov presented the Gold Star medals and personalized firearms to the servicemen who demonstrated courage and heroism in the SVO zone. He emphasized that he was familiar with the history of each hero's feat in detail. Their actions, according to the minister, "deserve the deepest respect and are an example for the younger generation and all citizens."
