Blake Lively Seeks Stricter Court Orders Amid Legal Battle with Justin Baldoni

Blake Lively has requested stricter protective measures in her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni. She and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, asked Judge Lewis J. Liman in the Southern District of New York to approve a stronger protective order (PO) than the court’s standard version. Their proposal includes an "Attorney’s Eyes Only" category for highly confidential materials to prevent potential harm.

Lively’s attorneys argue that increased protections are necessary due to threats received by her, her family, and supporters following her lawsuit against Baldoni. The actress filed the lawsuit in December, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation on the set of It Ends With Us. She also claims he used a crisis PR team to damage her reputation.

Baldoni has denied all allegations and responded with a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds. His attorney, Bryan Freedman, has indicated plans to launch a website refuting Lively’s claims. Lively’s legal team is seeking an injunction to restrict the dissemination of discovery materials and to remind Freedman of his ethical obligations.

Judge Liman has scheduled a trial for March 9, 2026, unless a settlement is reached earlier. The initial hearing, originally set for February 12, was moved up to February 3 at Lively’s request to address Freedman’s media comment
