The SmallRig DJI protective cage is compatible with both the DJI Osmo Action 3 and 4. The camera fits perfectly inside this cage, and the build quality is outstanding. The cage has a solid weight, which is indicative of its high durability and premium craftsmanship. It allows easy access to both the battery charging bay and the microSD/battery bay, making it simple to swap batteries and memory cards without removing the camera from the cage.

The camera is inserted into the cage through the back, using a locking swinging door. This design is a significant improvement over the stock DJI plastic protective housing, making it much easier to insert and remove the camera.

The SmallRig setup features a sleek gunmetal finish, adding to its aesthetic appeal. It also includes multiple attachment points, enabling users to mount lights, microphone receivers, and various other aftermarket accessories, such as vlogging microphones. While the SmallRig cage might seem a bit pricey, it is worth every penny for the quality and functionality it offers.

Some users have reported difficulty attaching the DJI magnetic adapter (which connects to the camera via a magnetic plate with locking tabs) to the SmallRig housing. However, I found this claim to be unfounded, as I had no issues attaching the adapter to the cage.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and confidently consider it the best aftermarket cage for the Osmo Action 3 and 4 available on the market.
