365 Devotions on the Power of Prayer:
Psalm 43:2-5 NKJV
2) For You are the God of my strength; Why do You cast me off? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
3) Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to Your tabernacle.
4) THen I will go to the altar of God, To God my exceeding joy; And on the harp I will praise You, OGod, my God.
5) Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

Psalm 43:2-5 NIV
2) You are God my stronghold. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?
3) Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell.
4) Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight. I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God.
5) Why, my soul, are you downcast?

PRAYING THE NAMES OF GOD:
Week #19: EL CHAY - LIVING GOD
Key Scripture’s : 2 Kings 19:15-16

Understanding the Name:
Scripture constantly warns against the worship of false gods. The first of the Ten Commandments is itself a proscription against idol worship. The title EL CHAY (EL CHAY), the living God, emphasizes God’s role as Creator of all that is, in contrast with idols made of metal, wood, or stone, which are merely the creations of human hands. Jeremiah paints a vivid picture, saying, “The customs of the people are worthless; They cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter. Like a scarecrow in a melon patch, their idols cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good” (Jeremiah 10:3-5 NIV) Imagine praying to a deaf and dumb god! That’s exactly the case when someone worships any other God than El Chay!
