Hear Gods Word and Believe in Jesus

Paul’s starts this section by asking four rhetorical questions that will engage some thought process to the Jewish community. Along with the questions, Paul will cite once again from the Old Testament scripture. Paul quotes Isaiah 52:7 as part of verse 15 to reinforce his teaching that to be saved you must hear the good news preached and second that this requirement to preach the good news has already been accomplished by his fellow apostles, disciples and preachers of the day.

The apostles in the first century were the primary preachers that have been sent to preach the word of God throughout the land. As Christianity grew from the time of Jesus ministry many people (preachers) were called to preacher the word of God by God to preach the good news of Jesus Christ. From a prophetic perspective as we come closer to the return of Jesus, it becomes extremely important to take the assignment that God has bestowed upon us to share God’s word very seriously. We should always approach our assignment with the attitude that the word we preach, the word we teach may be the only bible and scripture that people will ever read or hear.

God calls each one of us to share the who, what, when and where in biblical context to all. The primary objective is to represent the Triune God and His word as accurately as possible with the intent of showing and imparting the love of God to everyone. Our job is not to save, that is God’s job, and our job is to share in every possible way to get the message of salvation to all who have ears to hear.

Paul argues that there is no reason that the Jewish people have after hearing the New Testament gospel preached in denying Jesus as the Son of God. They heard the word as it was written and witnessed in most cases in real-time the healings and miracles carried out by Jesus and understood that Jesus is the Son of God. Unfortunately, they rejected God’s word, the preaching and teaching and even their own eyewitness accounts of the miracles performed by Jesus.

In today's times with modern technology, the word of God is accessible to over 90% of the world. God’s word is shared by missionaries who go into some of the most remote places in the world to get the gospel to every ear who can hear with a good amount of success. There is no reason for anyone who lives in an area that has access to the internet to be denied the word of God. Denial is not caused by external circumstances, but from within our own internal battles we fight on a daily basis.

If we rewind all the way back to the first century we obviously know the internet did not exist along with other technological advancements we enjoy today. We also know that that did not stop the apostles and the preachers from sharing God’s word to all the nations. They did get the message of Jesus to everyone who has ears to hear in Asia Minor and throughout the Middle East including Turkey and Egypt along with the Roman Empire and the surrounding people and lands. Jesus himself in His three year earthly ministry delivered His message of the greatness of His Father to all who would hear. Israel was and is continuously being presented with the word of God as it relates to His son Jesus Christ and still reject Christ.

Not much has changed in Israel, the belief that the Messiah is yet to come is taught throughout the synagogues. It is not until God calls the church home and in the tribulation as describe in the book of Revelation begins that Israel will finally believe the Messiah has been here, lived, died and was resurrected to heaven all in the first century.

My prayer is that every ear that can hear will hear the message of Jesus Christ and when that message is heard, a great conversion will take place not only in Israel but in the rest of the world. I pray that people will want to develop a close personal relationship with Jesus and recognize that Jesus is the only way to get into heaven. I continue to pray for the lost, those who do not know Jesus, I pray the ones who deny Jesus and I pray for those who only want Jesus in an “as needed” basis will see the truth of who Jesus really is and that through His sacrifice and our commitment to God through Christ, we will see heaven and live for eternity with our Lord and Savior. In the Mighty Name of Jesus I pray Amen! Amen!
