Ear Worms 038 - The Music & Sound Effects in John Carpenter's Dark Starr

Dark Star is a parody/satire/science fiction classic and is John Carpenter's first feature length film. Released in 1974, Carpenter produced and directed the film. Additionally, Carpenter composed the music for the film and enlisted some talented folks to do the sound effects. Synthesizer playa a major role in the overall sound design of the film. This film has some classic synth sounds and analog tape work. We are doing a slideshow presentation of moments form the film and listen to some of the musical excerpts and sound effects. We'll also talk about some of the great dialogue and concepts that are addressed in the film.
