Should New Zealand invade the Cook Islands? Believe it or not but that is now part of the public debate in New Zealand. The country’s largest newspaper just published an article with that title suggesting military intervention to halt the cooperation of the self-governed islands with China. What is going on in this supposedly peaceful nation next to Australia and why are cook islanders now not save anymore from a country that de jure is supposed to protect them?
