SURPRISE Ceasefire Exchange Attack FLOORS Netanyahu!

Right, so this week saw the return of the remains of hostages that Hamas took, who sadly lost their lives as a result of that. If Hamas hadn’t taken them they would still be alive, sure, but the biggest trauma experienced by those people in Hamas captivity, was as a result of the IDF’s actions.
The return of the bodies of the Bibas family has been marred however as a result of a mix up in remains being returned, an incident that has since been rectified, but not before Benjamin Netanyahu has tried to make as much political capital as he possibly could over the matter, exposing the depths of depravity he is prepared to stoop to, a hitherto level of hypocrisy we’ve not seen in my view even from him previously, but of all organisations, groups and bodies to come back at him for that, you wouldn’t have bet on the Red Cross necessarily, but they’ve had something to say about it.
Right, so that was Benjamin Netanyahu milking the mix up in the return of Sheri Bibas’ body for all he was worth in what I feel the need to apologise for almost in making you watch that, a blood pressure warning might have been appropriate, because he weaponised the deaths of those two boys, tragic deaths for all he was worth there.
I am reminded that on the night of October 7th the Hannibal Directive was in place, therefore for all we know, the IDF were themselves firing on the Bibas family as they were taken, no consideration of the ages of the two children taken there or any others who may have lost their lives on that night.
I am also reminded that more than 61,000 Gazans have been killed due to Israel’s genocide, more than 70% of them women and children and the way Netanyahu attack Hamas as monsters when we know the monstrousness he has presided over as well it’s hypocrisy on a level that is very difficult to stomach. None of that lets Hamas off the hook of course, the took these children, but the circumstances of their deaths and the deaths of so many children in Gaza, the last person on Earth anyone wants to hear an intervention of this kind from in light of that is Benjamin Netanyahu.
The release of the Bibas family’s remains by Hamas was supposed to bring some measure of closure, not least for the surivivng member of the family, the father Yarden Bibas, who was released this month, pleaded whilst he was in captivity to have the remains of his family released, having said:
‘Bibi, you destroyed my family. You killed my wife and my children, everything in my life… I am begging you, please bring my wife and my children home.’
When the last surviving member of the family has made clear who he blames for the death of his family, nothing Netanyahu says can possibly supersede that. He was still prepared to go ahead and try though.
The release of the Bibas family remains has as a result become a flashpoint for accusations, political manoeuvring, and outright hypocrisy on Israel’s part. Israel has accused Hamas of deliberately handing over the wrong body of Sheri Bibas, but let’s not forget here, this is the same Israel that, in the chaotic aftermath of October 7th, mistakenly took in the bodies of 400 Hamas operatives, thinking they were their own people, so when it comes to misidentification of remains, they do not have the high ground here.
Netanyahu has been quick to blame Hamas for what he calls a ‘deliberate act of cruelty.’ But this would hardly be the first time Israel has made such claims. In fact, Netanyahu’s government has a history of using tragic incidents to justify further military action and it’s not hard to see how Netanyahu’s rhetoric around the Bibas family’s remains could be an attempt to collapse the fragile ceasefire in Gaza that is still holding and in that vein, Hamas had a message for those affected, including the family of Oded Lifshitz, who’s remains were also returned to Israel alongside those of the Bibas family:
‘We would have preferred your sons to return to you alive, but your army and government leaders chose to kill them instead of bringing them back. And with them, they killed 17,881 Palestinian children in their criminal bombardment of the Gaza Strip, and we know that you understand who is truly responsible for their departure. You were the victim of a leadership that does not care about its children.’
Given the response from Yarden Bibas and ther death toll in Gaza as well, not to mention the Hannibal Directive that has now been confirmed to be in place on the night of October 7th, it’s a very difficult argument to refute.
But it’s not just coming from Hamas that Netanyahu and Israel are getting a rinsing, it’s come as well, from of all places, the Red Cross. Now the Red Cross have been acting as intermediaries during hostage releases, but when it comes to the release of remains, the Red Cross is actually responsible for identifying the remains handed over by Hamas, has criticized Netanyahu for his inflammatory language. In a statement, the Red Cross pointed out that identifying remains in a war zone is an incredibly difficult task, and errors can happen. So, if the wrong body was handed over, isn’t that, in part, the Red Cross’s responsibility as well? Or is Netanyahu simply looking for someone to blame? Certainly the Red Cross themselves opted to clarify this point:
‘Verifying the identity of the bodies of prisoners is the responsibility of our organization.
Our role is to intensify the humanitarian response in Gaza as a priority.
We were not involved in any transfer of Palestinian bodies from Israel to Gaza.
We are prepared to play a role in transferring the bodies with the consent of both parties for a dignified burial.’
Interesting how they are involved in returning Israeli remains to Israel but not Palestinian remains to Palestine isn’t it? Between this and the gagging orders put on Palestinian families to not show happiness or be threatened with being imprisoned again, it’s not hard to imagine they wouldn’t want the Red Cross examining people or remains for signs of the alleged torture and mistreatment that goes on is it?
Returning to the matter of the Bibas family though, for months, Israel claimed that Sheri Bibas and her children might still be alive, despite knowing they were dead, events exposed by outlets such as Middle East Eye, that Israel knew the Bibas family was dead all along and in fact, it was Israeli bombing that killed them. But now, the narrative has shifted again with Israeli officials now claiming that Hamas killed the Bibas children themselves, all to help Netanyahu’s chosen narrative I daresay, certainly that is the thought that struck me. So, which is it? Were they killed by Israeli airstrikes, or by Hamas? The inconsistency in Israel’s stories makes them harder to believe than ever and certainly Hamas were not going to sit by and allow this narrative shift without putting their two cents worth in:
‘The claims made by the spokesperson of the Zionist occupation army, accusing the resistance of killing the Bibas family, are nothing but outright lies—part of a long series of fabrications spread over the past fifteen months amid the ongoing genocide against our Palestinian people. This is a desperate attempt to evade responsibility for the murder of the family, which was caused by the scale of the occupation’s mass extermination, brutal bombardment, and widespread destruction of buildings and neighbourhoods. Furthermore, Netanyahu’s obstruction of a ceasefire agreement contributed to their deaths, alongside other crimes committed against [Israeli] captives in Gaza.
The occupation army, its media spokespersons, and its extremist fascist government have engaged in the most deceitful propaganda, repeatedly attempting to divert global public opinion away from their horrific crimes, genocide, ethnic cleansing, and massacres against defenceless civilians and all aspects of life in Gaza. However, the world continues to uncover the falsity of their narratives and the extent of their crimes against humanity.’
"Let’s not forget the broader context here. The Bibas family tragedy is just one of countless stories of loss and suffering in Gaza. Yet, the international outcry over their deaths pales in comparison to the outrage over the Bibas family. And the only conclusion you can draw from that is that as far as media scrutiny and investigation goes, Palestinian lives are simply considered less valuable. Certainly we know that is the Zionist view, that version of events doesn’t fit the narrative that Israel and its allies want to promote.
The fallout over the Bibas family’s remains is a stark reminder of the contradictions and dishonesty of Netanyahu and his government. It’s a story of tragedy, yes of course it is, we should mourn any and all innocents caught up in the middle of this no matter who’s side they are on, but we have to at the same time also call out the hypocrisy, political manoeuvring, and the dehumanisation of Palestinian lives seen as worth less by too many with too large a voice and too much influence on what others think. By focusing on the Bibas family, Netanyahu and his allies are trying to distract from the larger issue: the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people and they should be justifiably damned for that.
The story of the Bibas family is heartbreaking, as are rthe stories of all others who have been killed in this conflict, but it has to also be seen as a call to action. It’s a reminder that we need to think more critically about the narratives we’re being fed, and to question the motives behind them as well.
Meanwhile, Hamas have also come in and scuppered another of Israel’s chosen narratives, namely that of Netanyahu and Trump’s idea of deporting the population of Gaza, because they’ve presented Netanyahu with an offer he can’t refuse, that ought to be impossible to refuse, except to stay in post he’s going to have to and it’s going to leave him wide open to attack and justifiable critique of trying to derail the ceasefire once more.
