Polar bears kings of the Arctic - mini documentary

Polar bears are the largest land predators on earth and symbolise the extreme conditions of the Arctic. Their adaptations to the cold are unique: a coat up to 10 cm thick, which insulates with transparent hollow fibres and conducts light to the black skin underneath, stores heat. A layer of fat up to 11 cm thick provides additional protection from temperatures below -50°C. Adult males can reach up to 3 metres in length and 600 kg in weight, while females are significantly smaller.
Their habitat is the pack ice, where they mainly hunt seals. Polar bears stalk breathing holes or scent prey with their extremely sensitive sense of smell (up to 1 km away). They lose up to 30 % of their body weight in summer when the ice melts and hunting becomes more difficult. They then feed on fat reserves or search for bird eggs or plants on land - an emergency solution.
As excellent swimmers, they cover hundreds of kilometres in the icy water, propelled by paddle-like front paws.
What would you do if you saw a polar bear? Feel free to write it in the comments. I would really appreciate a like and a subscription.

I am constantly creating videos about mythical creatures and general facts about animals.
